About me
After moving to Tonbridge in Kent and rehoming a second Westie then fostering for Westie Rescue I thought I would learn to groom my own dogs. Hadlow College was only a few miles away, so registered for a dog grooming course.
I had been working for the City of London Police for a number of years and needed something more.
I started my dog grooming training with Julie Harris and absolutely loved every minute. For three years I used all my annual leave and spare money to complete my training until I achieved my diploma in 2011. I converted my garage at home and setup my little salon with good quality equipment.
I eventually took the big step and went part time with the Police and begun grooming from home. I never advertised and relied on word of mouth. My business built up naturally and nicely which kept me busy eventually working 7 days a week.
I have attended as many seminars, additional training and grooming competitions as I could to continually improve and learn more skills.
I joined the committee of the English Groomers Group and help at events and the English Groomers Rookie Challenge and Challenge.
In June 2015 I took on the role as one of the tutors at Hadlow PIF Dog Grooming School, a new venture between Hadlow College and Pet Industry Federation, which I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and gained new skills.
In December 2016 after 23 years with the Police I moved to South Wales.
