About me
What do I love about my job? Wet noses, fluffy tails and cuddles! I wake up every morning looking forward to meeting the pets in the salon that day. At Four Paws we style to breed standard, lifestyle or a pup’s personality and each dog through our doors is a VIP (Very Important Pooch)! We also make time to fuss our feline friends offering a full pamper session for them too. Four Paws has 4 grooming salons in Cheshire, offering a service to suit all needs (hopefully in a location close to you). The Four Paws Family also includes the largest doggie daycare centre in the county, luxury boarding kennels and of course our modern grooming salons. We pride ourselves on offering superb customer service with the highest animal welfare standards, pleasing people and pets!
Do you think I have the best job in the world? I do! I am doubly lucky to spend my days teaching students to groom as a hobby or profession so others can live their dream too. Four Paws Groom School delivers Open College Network West Midland qualifications and accreditations with quality tuition on some gorgeous doggie models! See the Four Paws Groom School on The Groomers Spotlight Training tab for more details on the school or visit www.fourpawsgroomschool.co.uk.
What do I enjoy out of work? My boys! I have a husband and 2 dogs who I love to spend my free time with. ‘The boys’ include Benji (labradoodle) and Alfie (Labrador). They come to work with me each day and even holidays are spent on Cornish beaches so they can come too.
From all of this, you may have realised I love animals and in particular dogs! I started grooming as a hobby 9 years ago attending a college course in my spare time. I developed a small grooming business alongside my ‘day job’ not knowing that it would take over! I joined Four Paws in January 2016 as a Grooming Tutor, combining my teaching and grooming skills into a full-time role.
My Achievements
My proudest professional achievement to date is not in my own qualifications (although they are listed below), it is in developing the Open College West Midlands Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming qualification which we teach to our students at Four Paws Groom School. Myself and Fern Gresty (Director) drew all our knowledge, course materials and passion together to get the qualification on the National Qualification Framework and approved by Ofqual. We are a great team and formalised our partnership in February 2017 when I joined Fern as joint Director and equal owner of Four Paws Groom School.
