Who is
Alison Rogers?
Alison
Rogers has been grooming since 1991 and has owned her own salon in Huddersfield
since 1995. Her grooming qualifications are city and guilds Grooming 7750
Diploma, LCGI Dog Grooming and she is a member of the guild of master groomers.
Alison’s depth of experience includes teaching pet grooming and animal care at
various colleges teaching NVQ, BTEC, C &G and national diploma. Her
qualifications in teaching are city & guilds 730 level & OCR level 4.
Having
trained many students over the years Alison has had the pleasure of watching
them go on to operate very successful grooming business with some following her
footsteps into the competition ring. They have won places at prestigious
grooming events such as premier groom, eurogroom and mastergroom. In 2007 one
of Alison’s students won newcomer of the year at the British dog grooming
championship. That same student then went on to competitions that year. Also in
2007 another of Alison’s students won runner up groomer of the year at the
British dog grooming championships. More recently Emma Taylor was crowned
groomer of the year at the British dog grooming championship 2015.
Alison
is always honing her own skills as a groomer by competing and judging grooming
competitions in the UK and around the world, not to mention judging the world
dog grooming championships 2017. She has also been a judge at crufts. Some of
her professional achievements so far are:
2000-
Runner up British dog grooming
2003-
Professional groomer championship with a bichon.
2004-
Professional groomer championship with a Lhasa Apso (the only groomer to win
back to back years)
2007-
Groomer of the year- British dog grooming championship
2012-
Groomer of the year- British dog grooming championship
2014-
European grand champion- Oster invitational tournament of champions
She
is one of the founding members of groom team England where they came 3rd
in the world championships 2007 and 2009. Since then Alison has represented
groom team England on numerous occasions and more resently as a reserve 2015.
As well as grooming Alison has successfully bred and shown west highland white terriers and standard poodles. She currently breeds bichon frise under the kennel name of ALIZO. They are producing exceptional results in the ring including reserve challenge certificates and challenge certificates with multi champion ALIZO Caesars palace winning best of breed and best in show in Italy.
