About me
As a child I loved and had a strong interest in all animals. I had every small animal but at age 6 I got my own cat. She was a nasty black cat, but I loved her. She even lived till she was 23 years old!
I left school in 2000 and went to animal care college. There I achieved an NVQ 2 and a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Care. In between college I had a part time job in retail, so once I left college I became full time. 7 years in retail I managed to work my way up the ladder; sales assistant, team leader, assistant manager, manager and finally area manager.
In 2007 my retail experience, my qualifications and my love of animals helped me become a manager of a successful multimillion pet store chain. After a year I moved up to area manager and I really enjoyed my job. During my time I passed Pet Shop Management, NVQ 2 in Customer Care, NVQ 2 in Retail Management, Pet Nutrition, Human & Animal First Aid. After 13 years in retail it was time for a change.
I started work as a dog bather at a dog grooming/training studio; KD Grooming Studio in Somerset. I soon got on and achieved my PTTLS Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Sector and Animal First Aid.
My love of cats came back to me when I helped out holding a cat that was being groomed. This cat was not happy about being groomed but having such a naughty aggressive cat when I was a child, seemed to help I was not fazed and really enjoyed grooming the cat. I passed my PIF Competence in Cat Grooming and started grooming cats and teaching the qualification. In between grooming cats I passed my Intro in Dog Grooming and updated to Canine First Aid.
To keep to a high standard, up to date and improve my skills in the industry I have gained a City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Walking and Level 3 Diploma in Dog Styling.

With over 10 years experience of teaching cat and dog grooming. I have stepped back and groom one to one.
In my spare time I spend time with my family. I enjoy cooking and baking. I compete in grooming competitions with my bedlingtons Barry & Betty. I attend workshops and seminars to keep learning. I count myself as a veteran to Crufts and have been going for over 20 years, spectating, helping out on stands and shopping!!!
