About me
Hi, My name is Tracy, I have been grooming for 19 years.
2004 PawsAwhile, Southport
2015 Level 3 City and Guilds at All Breed, Birmingham
2020 OCN Diploma at MCDT Training, Liverpool.
2024 pending CLINICAL CANINE MASSAGE THERAPIST (almost there after 2 years intensive training)
I am passionate about dogs, their grooming needs, welfare and behaviour. Grooming has allowed me to meet so many different breeds, coat styles and temperaments. I like to groom all breeds but my favourite coats are the longer haired dogs eg Poodles, Bichons, Maltese, Yorkies and I could go on an on.
I also like it when I have worked with a nervous dog and finally get it settled - that's one of the most satisfying things for me in this job.
I own two Chihuahuas and one of them is very nervous and reactive so I've had a lot of experience dealing with her and I know how loving she is at home.
I had a Lhasa Apso who lived until he was 16 years and he was only ever groomed by me from when he was about 8 weeks old. I learnt a lot with him on my grooming journey and he was a lovely patient dog, he never minded spending time on my table and getting restyled, I think he just loved the attention.
Education is very important to me. I regularly attend seminars and learn as much as I can.
I have completed a Pet First Aid course.
Reiki (specifically for dogs) - this I find very useful as it's instant and all the dogs react positively to this technique!
TTouch Dog Massage
Training with nervous dogs in how to handle and try and build up a dog's confidence in a grooming environment
Thank you for reading my profile and I look forward to meeting you and your dogs soon.
