Breed History / Description
This is a miniaturised version of the Pinscher, the German breed which was used for vermin control. Originally the miniature variety was also used as a ratter but nowadays enjoys life as a family companion. The first breed club was formed in Germany in 1895 but the breed did not reach the UK until the 1950s. In the USA and the UK the breed has been developed with a high stepping hackney action which differs from the country of origin standard.
Characteristics
Precise hackney gait, fearless animation, complete self-possession and spirited presence.
