Breed History / Description
This is the least numerous of the German pointing breeds and it is thought that an addition of Setter and Spaniel blood to the root stock of the other German Pointers brought the coat type. Seen in the show ring in smaller numbers, he is, however, an excellent worker.
Characteristics
Dual purpose Pointer/Retriever, very keen nose, determined hunter and game-finder; equally good on land and in water.
Temperament
Calm, even tempered. Alert, biddable and very loyal.
