About me
Hi
i I am a mobile dog groomer covering Porthcawl to pencoed. I groom small to medium dogs at your house. All I require is to be able to legally park close to your house so I can plug in to the electric. I supply a 25 meter lead.
In 1991 My mother sent our yorkie and rough collie to our local groomer. The yorkie came back totally bald and the collie still had a dirty belly. My mother uttered the legendary words ‘’ You can do better than that’’, So I did!!
I learned the hard way. I went to a salon in Bristol for a week then set up on my own. Learning was hard with no internet, seminars or comps to go to learn but I seemed to have a knack for doing what the customer wanted.
I bought my first poodle Winnie about 6 months later and my learning curve started! She had every style imaginable; I taught myself shapes and finishes. I also started to show her and later her daughter. While at the shows I would ask questions and watch others prepping for the ring. I was always asking breeders for advice and picking up whatever tips I could. Learning has always been important to me.
I have had my own salon and also worked in Bridgend Pets at home salon when it first opened, leaving a few years later to open up at a local kennels.
I went back as salon manager to the Groomroom @ Pets at Home Bridgend. I still think learning is the most important part of my job. I attend competitions and seminars in my spare time so I can continue to improve my skills. I enjoy passing my knowledge on to other colleagues and watching them succeed.
My proudest moment to date was completing my city and guilds diploma and coming out with 2 distinctions.
I have a Mini Poodle Morgana and a Lakeland Terrier Myfanwy. These 2 fur babies help me hone 2 of the most challenging skills in grooming, Scissoring and handstripping. They are my world.
My outlook on running a salon is that your dog is my client and I will always put the welfare of the dog first. I will treat any dog that comes into my care as my own and will listen to what you want me to do. I will advise on the best care for your dog and strive to do the best I can for your dog.
Grooming is my passion my love my world. The day I stop learning is the day I give up.

I like my toys to look like poodles so always have the traditional lambs clip. Deb excels at this clip and my toys look and smell wonderful after Deb has finished.
