About me
Having always had a passion for dogs Clara opened My Best Friend Professional Dog Grooming in May 2015. Since then the business has grown from Clara working alone in a garden pod to what it is today, 3 full time groomers working from a purpose built salon with over 600 active clients. Clara is Mum to 2 Miniature Poodles, Nova and Bee as well as a Working Cocker Spaniel named Daisy.
Clara doesn’t believe there is a one size fits all solution for your dog. She takes the time to get to know you both and find out about your lifestyle to help her understand what’s best for you! The welfare of your dog is at the heart of the business with a focus on quality, care and outstanding client service.
My Best Friend Dog Grooming Academy opened for business in April 2021 offering the following iPET Network Ofqual courses:
- Level 3 Award in Canine Emergency First Aid
- Level 3 Award in Hand-Stripping
- Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Dog Grooming
- Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming and Introduction to Styling
- Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management

Clara and team at My Best Friend have groomed Bridie since she was a puppy and treat her as if she was one of the family! Friendly, fun and totally professional Bridie turns heads and tails when she's had her wayward coat groomed and smells gorgeous. Always recommend to any fellow dog owners we meet on our travels!

Clara and all all members of her team are just lovely and fantastic at their job. My pooches Poppy and Angus always love coming, they are happy and always come out just gorgeous and I’m never disappointed. What an absolute find, I do and will always recommend these lovely guys x
I had tried everything in an attempt to cut my French Bulldogs nails. She absolutely loves to be washed and groomed but try to cut her nails and she would turn very aggressive and try to bite. It got so bad I thought there was no alternative other than to have her muzzled or even sedated by a vet before having them cut. I was thrilled that Clara was even going to attempt to cut Maisie’s nails, Clara was full of confidence, no muzzle, no sedative and 5 minutes after I took her in Maisie came out looking relaxed and happy with lovely short nails. I’m not sure how Clara did it but we will be going back very regularly. Highly recommend

I have just started taking Dandy to be groomed but already I know that I will be coming back again and again. Her initial session was quite traumatic for me as she was so matted having come from a rescue centre, that her fur was shorn to make her comfortable. This made a huge impact on her well being and when she went for her second session she did not need such a drastic change!
Clara and lindsay always welcomes you with a big smile and always has time for a chat before we leave George our Shih tzu in their capable hands. We love that fact that he can mix with other dogs too. They know exactly how we like George cut. We are due to move to our new home further away soon but we have decided we will still continue to come to My Best Friends

Clara was recommended to me 3 yrs ago for my terrier Tess and I wouldn't think of taking Tess anywhere else. I wouldn't say Tess is happy to see them but always leaves looking clean and great, which considering the state she arrives in ( she comes to work with me all week ) is no mean feat. Both Clara and Lindsey are marvelous with her, thank you both.

As a surrogate pet owner, with part time caring rights for Huxley. We have nothing but praise for Clara and Lindsay. They have once again helped us out with a short notice appointment for a rather shaggy dog suffering from the result of 'lockdown locks'. It is pleasing to see that your new accommodation is completed. Huxley always looks great after his visit. Thank you for another excellent grooming.

Just had our first dog groom with Lindsey and Clara, what a lovely environment for my 3 shihtzu crosses. After being in lockdown they were hairy bears to say the least but the ladies did a fantastic job. I felt so at ease, as I hate leaving my fur babies but they were well looked after and the ladies were so knowledgeable and welcoming. Wicket, Daisy and Ted look fab, thankyou so much x
Both Clara and Lindsey are delightful and very welcoming and caring with the dogs. I took my two border terriers there recently for the first time and was very impressed. The dogs were groomed beautifully and when I picked them up they were so happy and relaxed. The previous place I went to the dogs were desperate to get away! Just bought our cocker spaniel fudge back from having been groomed for the first time at my best friend groomers and he looks very good and smells lovely will be taking him back again as very pleased with the grooming, very professional & lovely people .

This was our first visit with our cocker spaniel to Clara and Lindsey for grooming and we will definitely be coming back. We were really impressed with the groom, the care he received and the knowledge and expertise Clara and Lindsey showed. My Old English Sheepdog Holly was groomed by Clara, she did an absolutely amazing job on Holly. It had been difficult for other groomers to get an even cut on her all over but Clara did a great job and even better Holly was happy and not at all anxious when I returned to pick her up. Thank you!

I can't thank Clara and Lindsay enough for the care they take of Tufty. He arrives looking like the wild and naughty boy that he is and leaves looking like the beautiful handsome boy that he also is....and doesn't he know it!! What's more, Tufty has various complicated health problems and they have not only heard of them they understand and know about what issues arise from his complaints. They truly do care about the dogs they look after outside and inside too!!

Recently took my Kokoni cross, Nell, to Clara for the first time. What an excellent job! Nell is quite nervous and has never liked going to the groomer, but the care and attention from Clara and her team was evident. Not only was Nell looking 'smart as a whip', but she was much happier and much more relaxed than the usual desperate to get out of the door dog I usually collect post grooming trip. More than happy to book future appointments (in fact, I just have!). It's quite evident Clara knows her stuff and his more than happy to share her knowledge, too. I came away with loads of advice on everything from how to get Nell used to having her teeth cleaned to what addiitives might be beneficial for her health issues. Great service. Thank you!
